owl invasion

Posted: February 12th, 2007 | Author: | Filed under: critters | 1 Comment »

I haven’t paid much attention to owls since the Great Owl Incident of 2004, but today they are everywhere: the Smithsonian Store spam, a post on design*sponge, a random Etsy page . . . I only hope that whatever the noise was that woke us up at 3:30 this morning wasn’t owl-related. Once in a lifetime is enough.

As long as the owls remain outside, it’s kind of cool to have them around. They keep other critter populations in check.

Kieran has an owl couple that nests outside his room. When we still had the baby monitor in their, I woke up Andy several times thinking that there were owls in his room. Kieran likes listening to them, and now we only hear them from our room when they’re getting, ahem, friendly shall we say.
