Currently, I regularly teach bead classes at Grand River Beads in Rocky River, Ohio, and etching classes at Bead Q in Chagrin Falls and North Olmsted, Ohio. Below is some information about classes past and present; my class schedule is in the sidebar of this page. If you are interested in taking a class, please contact the shop where the class is scheduled for pricing and to register.
If you are a shop owner and would like me to teach a class for you outside of the immediate Cleveland area, please e-mail me.
Etched Layered Pendant
(Bead Q)
This workshop teaches a simple chemical process for etching copper and brass along with several finishing techniques. You will combine several etched pieces into a layered pendant that is uniquely yours. A variety of ideas for incorporating etched pieces into your work will be presented.
Please note: Etching is messy business. If you really love your manicure and/or hate to get your hands dirty, this is not the workshop for you. We’ll be filing and sanding and using chemicals and colorants. Please wear clothing that won’t cause you heartbreak if it gets stained.
Level: beginner
You need to bring: jewelry pliers for opening and closing jump rings
Optional tools/materials: (bring them if you have them, but no need to run out and buy them just for this workshop) rubber stamps, laser-cut stickers, fine sanding sponge, fine metal files

Skills learned: chemical etching of brass and copper, adding color to metal, filing techniques
Furnace Glass Fiesta Necklace
This project combines furnace glass, Swarovski crystals, and sterling silver wire in a fun necklace with lots of movement. Furnace glass comes in a variety of shapes and colors, and has the interesting property of being almost clear when viewed along the hole axis but very colorful when viewed from the side. You’ll have fun creating with these unusual beads.

Chunky Chime Bracelet and Necklace
This project uses chunky borosilicate glass beads and donuts along with Swarovski crystals or pearls and sterling silver. The pattern can be used with a few extra rings to create an adjustable bracelet, or with a cord to become a necklace. The glass bead kits come in a variety of colors. This is not my original design, but is based on a sample provided by the manufacturer of the kit.

Beading 101: Necklaces and Bracelets
(Bead Q)
This is a beginner stringing class in which you will learn about different stringing materials and findings (clasps, crimps, jump rings) and then use that knowledge to make necklaces and/or bracelets from beads and materials you selected and purchased before the class (list provided at registration). Major emphasis will be placed on learning to crimp properly, which is the foundation of making pieces that last.
